1. Membership Agreement
By applying for, renewing, or maintaining membership with Scone Race Club Limited ("the Club"), each member agrees to be bound by:
- The Club Constitution.
- Any Club Rules adopted by the Board.
- Any Code of Conduct adopted by the Board.
- These Membership Terms & Conditions.
In the event of any inconsistency, the Constitution will prevail.
2. Membership Eligibility
Membership applications must:
- Be completed on the approved Club membership application form.
- Be signed by the applicant.
- Be approved by the Board or its nominated sub-committee.
The Board is not required to provide reasons for accepting or rejecting an application.
3. Admission to Membership
Membership is not effective until:
- The membership application has been submitted, and the applicable membership fee has been paid in full.
- The application has been approved by the Board or nominated sub-committee.
If the application is not approved, any membership fee paid will be dealt with in accordance with the Club's refund policy.
4. Membership Categories
The Club may establish different classes of membership, with qualifications, rights, privileges and obligations determined by the Board from time to time.
Membership categories may include Voting Members, Non-Voting Members, Life Members, and any other class approved by the Board.
5. Membership Fees
The Board may determine:
- A joining fee for new members.
- Annual subscription fees.
- Payment arrangements, including instalments.
- Different fee structures for membership categories.
- Any waivers or discounts that may apply.
Membership fees are generally non-refundable unless otherwise determined by the Board.
6. Life Membership
Life Membership may be granted to a person who has rendered significant service to the Club and whose contribution warrants special recognition.
Life Members:
- Retain the rights and privileges of membership.
- Are exempt from annual subscription fees.
7. Member Obligations
Members must:
- Comply with the Constitution, Club Rules and Code of Conduct.
- Conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly.
- Support the objectives and interests of the Club.
- Keep their contact details current.
- Not engage in conduct that is detrimental to the Club or its reputation.
8. Voting Rights
Only members eligible to vote under the Constitution and Club Rules may vote at general meetings.
A member is not entitled to vote if any membership fees or other monies due and payable to the Club remain unpaid.
9. Renewal of Membership
Membership must be renewed by payment of the applicable membership fee by the date determined by the Club.
A person who has not paid the applicable membership fee is not entitled to membership rights or privileges until payment has been received and any renewal requirements have been satisfied.
10. Resignation
A member may resign at any time by providing written notice to the Chief Executive. Membership ceases upon receipt of the notice by the Club.
11. Suspension or Termination of Membership
The Board may suspend or terminate a member's membership where the member:
- Breaches the Constitution, Club Rules or Code of Conduct.
- Engages in conduct considered detrimental to the interests of the Club.
Before any suspension or expulsion occurs, the member will:
- Receive reasonable notice of the allegations.
- Be advised of the date, time and place of the Board meeting considering the matter.
- Be given an opportunity to respond.
12. Automatic Cessation of Membership
Membership automatically ceases if a member:
- Dies.
- Becomes legally incapable of managing their affairs.
- Becomes bankrupt.
13. Privacy
The Club collects, stores and uses personal information for the administration of memberships and Club activities.
Members agree to the Club maintaining a Register of Members as required by law and the Constitution.
Members must advise the Club of any change to their contact details.
14. Amendment of Terms
The Club may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Updated Terms & Conditions will be published on the Club's website or otherwise made available to members.
